Documents in depth the life and artistic trajectory of musician and poet Itamar Assumpção, who passed away in 2003 from cancer at the age of 53. He was one of the pillars of a movement in Brazilian popular music known as the "Paulista Vanguard." With a volcanic personality, Itamar built his masterful body of work almost entirely independently, in defiance of the cultural industry—and established a turbulent relationship with it early on. His integrity and often uncompromising stance earned him the label of "cursed" and ultimately placed him on the margins (often painfully) of what was considered "commercial success" (success for Itamar was achieved in his own way, with sold-out shows and long runs in São Paulo, as well as tours across Europe).
